En tant qu'objet dynamique — works on paper
2018–2019
An ongoing series of small collages on paper, grouped by Segard under the working title en tant qu’objet dynamique — “as a dynamic object”. Each sheet layers found and printed matter — cut paper, photographic fragments, typeset pages — with charcoal, ink and watercolour, so that the flat surface begins to buckle into depth. Roads, underpasses, columns and horizons recur, assembled and re-assembled until the image reads less as a place than as a structure in motion.
Made largely between 2018 and 2019, the collages function as a laboratory for the larger drawings and installations: a place to test how the fragments of a city might be torn apart and held in a new, provisional balance. Each work is roughly 42 × 27 cm.
